Drew Russell, big, tall, thickly muscled and good looking, made quite an impression in his BGEast debut – a tag team affair with Alexi Adamov at his side taking on Team Thunder from Cajun Country! No, the big babyfaces didn’t win. And no, Drew didn’t shock the fans by rescuing his tag partner and defeating the heels. Quite the contrary! He was memorable for the intense beat-downs he suffered, from ALL involved! It was bad enough being beaten down by the treacherous foes on the other side of the ring – but to get beaten down by your own partner after the match is over? "Give me another chance to show what I’ve got," he insisted to the boss. "Let me back in the ring with Cage Thunder!"
And as the fans know, BGE seldom promotes rematches. Oh they happen, for sure, but BGE rarely tapes them, unless there is a very compelling reason. Well, when Drew and Cage announced they were going to have it out whether or not BGE sponsored or condoned the match, the intensity and heat generated between these two studs was compelling and intriguing enough for The Boss to book it!
