Taking its inspiration from the trials and tribulations of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, director Doug Jeffries brings us [2] Of A Kind, a mildly entertaining spoof of celebrity twins. Meet Kyle and Ryan Owen (both dismally played by Ryan Alexander) two stars who are on the verge of launching their own reality show. Turns out the twins have completely different Jekyll and Hyde personalities, although both obviously like working on a big cock.

Ms. Chi Chi LaRue appears here as “Bruce Boxxxer”, a Jiminy Glick type interviewing the twins a celebrity segment in the style of Entertainment Tonight or Extra. The sex in [2] Of A Kind is a series of flashbacks, reenactments, and hidden camera type segments inspired by the twins’ bitchy sibling rivalries. One of entertainment’s most overused plot devices – one twin assuming the identity of the other for personal gain – is one of the main plot drivers here.

The story gets extraordinarily convoluted – the “good” twin portraying the “bad” twin for one of Bruce Boxxxer’s illustrative clips. It makes sense to abandon plot from the get-go and focus in on the sex. The first segment pits tattooed Tommy Blade up against Damian Rios, two models that are nearly impossible to tell apart while they’re rolling around on the bed. The rimming here is in-your-face graphic, delicious to watch. Blade really shines, especially when he submits to Rios doggy style.

The next scene in the film, another one of Boxxxer’s exposés designed to get a rise out of the twins during the interview, is a threeway with bearded blonde Scott Tanner, Christian Owen, and Ryan Alexander himself. Filmed in a Jacuzzi, the action here is arguably the best in the film, probably because Mr. Tanner’s got at least ten years on both of his younger, smoother co-stars. Tanner plays the twins’ agent and definitely appears to be having a ball servicing his young client. Fans of older/younger style action will want to start viewing the film here.

Joey Austin, a fresh face who puts one in mind of a wayward Backstreet Boy with his spiky hair and troubled complexion hooks up with big-dicked Jeremy Hall in the gym steamroom. Hall plays the Owen twins’ personal trainer. Austin is a little apprehensive about having sex in such a public place – that is until Hall slyly offers to give him the same kind of “workout” he provides to the twins. Director Jeffries is smart to keep the camera focused on Hall’s beautiful cock in various states of play. One of the best snapshots here finds Hall, balls-deep in a bubble bath, holding his stiffie up while Austin slowly sinks his ass onto it.

The film’s finale – the “bad” twin seducing and sleeping with his ’s boyfriend – while erotic, is a bit anticlimactic. I was hoping that Jeffries would find a clever way to have the twins involved in a threeway, or, better yet, sleep with one another. Camera trickery such as this may be just beyond Unzipped’s reach. Alexander isn’t really interesting enough to carry the lead role, making for a so-so experience overall. And LaRue, while comical here and there, should stick with her drag persona. Tommy Blade and Scott Tanner are the best two in [2] Of A Kind.
